[ Kwang Ji & Yoonho ]
Our Mummy and Son of the show of course were not gonna have any problems with teamwork. I think Yoonho was just relieved that he had someone to be comfortable with. These two pretty much seem like one team against the aggressive rappers. Dammit I’m starting make a personal connection to Kwang Ji which is jarring.
Their performance was equally as good as the other two rappers. The judges were also right when they said that Yoonho had improved much more from before. It was also Yoonho who got put through and Kwang Ji was eliminated. Dude I was sad, I personally thought Kwang Ji was better and his lyrics were on point. I seriously was wishing it was him (no offence to Yoonho). I don’t know maybe it was just me. I could tell Yoonho felt proper guilty by the result as well since Kwang Ji supported him a lot throughout the rehersals. Part of me also feels like the result was just that worse. Namely because, it sounds harsh to say, but whoever it was, they wouldn’t have been put over and above #GUN. This guy would have been a great, composer but sadly… I don’t even need to watch the end to know he wasn’t going to make the final cut.
[ Hyungwon and Wonho ]
I don’t really have much to say about Hyungwon and Wonho’s performance. They focused more on the ‘flirty’ dancing rather than the vocals since that and visuals is more their forte. I mean they weren’t amazing to be honest but I feel like the song definitely suited Hyungwon’s smooth voice far better. Overall it was a little bit of a boring performance. As a Monsta X fan it feels weird to say that lol.
[ Minkyun and Yoosu ]
Minkyun and Yoosu. Their background scene’s made it pretty clear that they weren’t the closest of the bunch. Constantly conflicting on song choices etc. I have to admit during their performance I was more drawn to Yoosu. I don’t why, and sorry if I offend any fans of Minkyun’s by saying this, but I feel like his singing ain’t even that great. Maybe his voice just isn’t my thing. I just thought it was stupid of the judges to eliminate Yoosu. His voice is so perfect to me that I was completely baffled by the result. Seriously? Does anyone agree with me on this? I guess they are the ‘pros’ after all so they know better. I still think it was stupid a decision.
I’m not even going to comment on Kihyun and Jooheon winning the grand prizes. Come on was it really that hard to figure out who would win it from the beginning? They are the strongest in their fields so of course it makes sense. To be honest at the end of the day I was gutted that both Yoosu and Kwang Ji were sent home. Like what? It was painful because Kwang Ji was looking at the judges whilst everyone else had their heads down as if he knew it was going to be him anyway. I’m just glad he stayed positive; I really liked him as a person. He was probably the least competitive and most caring of the bunch. Yoosu too I thought was just a bad idea. I thought he had a lot of potential. I was not impressed at all.
Sidenote: The ending almost got me in tears when they had to leave… I promised myself I wouldn’t create attachments since I know who would debut but aishhh! Later though everything was forgotten when they all went to get turnt at the company party. It was hilarious to see them in a club sort of setting; to be honest I think that with all idols. When they mentioned it was 20+ party… errr what you gonna be doing there to make it 20+? *cough*cough* #BangBangBang
