[ MISSION SUMUP ] The contestants were paired into teams and were told to perform a track together. However the weaker of the two were to face elimination and by the end of this one voicalist and one rapper will be gone.
[ Kihyun & Shownu ]
Wow, it was weird seeing them in this context since in Monsta X they’re just cuties to each other. It was funny to see how awkward they were with each other when it came to teaming up. Especially since neither wanted to be paired together. You could tell from then it was more of a competition between each other. Shownu’s strength being dance and Kihyun’s being singing, the clash was evident as they were trying to chose something suited to themselves. So awkward to watch and why did Shownu think dressing up as Popeye was appropriate for Bang Bang?
I was kind of surprised they chose to do ‘Bang Bang’ by Jessie J. I just never expected them to come across the song as plausible for their performance. So I was prepared for something wild. However it was a disappointing performance. I mean Shownu’s vocals wavered I presume from the dancing, whilst Kihyun’s kept quite stable. Hyolyn was right that their lack of teamwork failed them massively. Their awkwardness shone through and it was really evident that they were more concerned with making sure their parts came out strong. They ended up looking out of sync. I didn’t realise until San E said it that Shownu did look like he cared. That’s probably why it looked like it was all over the place. Of course Shownu was eliminated. Vocalist vs. Dancer… it’s not that hard to see who would be worth more. #NoOffence
[ Minhyuk & Seokwon ]
OMGGGG THESE TWO ARGHHH. Since they went up after Kihyun and Shownu the atmosphere was tense. Luckily Min Hyuk being the funny charmer he is, livened up the atmosphere a lot. San E’s dirttttyyy laugh though; it was his face that made me laugh not Minhyuk’s. That sly comment Hyolyn ahh you sneaky girl. I was a little worried since of course they were the lowest of the numbers. So their life was on the line. But I was happy by the way they went about practicing. They actually ended up asking the others as to what song would suit them better which was a clever idea. I’m also glad they got teamed together because both being the last numbers basically meant they were in the same boat. Seokwon being young and last literally looked like he was going to give up and that’s also why it was a good choice to have Minhyuk there to encourage him to be not be disheartened. #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork
Goddamit I take back what I said about Seokwon. His vocals were on point. The Eddy Kim style song was definitely a good pick for both of their personalities as well as their voices. They killed it looking like a pair of hormonal acne covered guys trying to flirt. I was clapping like a retarded seal throughout. I loved it, way better than the previous performance. Their voices were in sync and the show was just fun to watch overall. I actually even replyayed their performance.
Oh my Sweet Buddha the way when they announced the wrong name for elimination. I was like bruh really? Was this pre planned or something? I thought it was supposed to be Min Hyuk too just because Seokwon’s vocals (surprisingly) were just that little bit stronger. It was a good thing it happened that way I guess because Min Hyuk is just positive enough to take it better. But they were both equally good.
[ Jooheon & #GUN ]
The power battle between the best friends… I’ve been waiting for you. These two are so tight I just find it hard to believe how non-bitchy they are to each other in the competition. Ok wait, let me take that back. They are bitches to each other but in a banter sort of way. It’s nice to see that although both are fighiting for the same spot, they are also helping each other too. But Mad Clown… bruh your words were too harsh. I had the same reaction as #GUN with his comments. Even I don’t understand what he was getting at, and all that praise for Jooheon? *Cough * cough #LemmeNot
Anyway their performance was obviously banging. Crazy, hype – AMAZING. I loved their vibe a lot, and their cheekiness throughout the performance definitely made it more enjoyable to watch. I’m pretty impressed by how well they scripted that performance, it was like they were doing a professional live show. But I agree with Rhymer. #GUN’s performance was sick BUT he just seemed like Jooheon’s hype man at the same time. Not sure if that was due to how they distributed their parts. It was like he kept hiding in the shadows of Jooheon. On top of that it feels like he’s already accepted that his fate is that he won’t debut. I mean he kept saying Jooheon was the best and THAT is exactly why I loved Soyou’s comment to him to believe that he also can be a monster in the game. Final words on their performance was that it was just #TooTurnt… can so imagine this in a club.
