Ok for these two episodes I’m actually going to separate it episode by episode. Mainly because of the way the episodes played out. But don’t worry I will try and keep it short and sweet. 🙂
Ep 7’s main focus was on Hye Jin and Seong Joon. Since the majority of the episode was based on what happened on their business trip I guess it made sense. We finally see some genuine happiness and interest in Hye Jin from Seong Joon. Seong Joon you need to stop denying the love dude. It all starts with lunch at a restauraunt owned by an ahjumma who I swear was Ra Ra. He tells her to stop being cheap and just eat whatever. Big mistake since some dumbass left his wallet at home. Yup, you better swallow that pride and ask Hye Jin for a loan.
They end up having to pay the rest with physical labour. My Buddha was I the only one who could not stop cracking up when Seong Joon looked like he was going to break down having to pick up manure? But Seong Joon in pink pants tho…
Moving on; his first act of kindness comes when he digs through the manure to find Hye Jin’s prized ID. Awhhh, well aren’t you sweet. He tried denying it but the ahjumma baited him out. There was an ironic quote from Seong Joon when he explains how he understands her love for her ID. Mainly because he doesn’t realise that his prized possession is right next to him but he doesn’t consider her anything special at the same time.
Seong Joon is a completely different person in this episode. He even cracks jokes. I also saw that sly hi5 when she added a good idea for the pictorial. There’s even a mini date moment when they end up chatting about childhood memories (like proper deep ones) and talk till the restaurant closes. All of this put together makes Hye Jin come to the conclusion to tell him who she really is. Well damn… trust me this isn’t even the climatic part.
SHIN HYUK, being Seong Joon’s every growing c*ckblock jumps in and interrupts her. Sounds weird but although I want Seong Joon to find out, I’m sort of glad he jumped in. This guy literally has been lost without Hye Jin. Constantly searching for her presence anywhere and everywhere. Seong Joon so obviously wants Shin Hyuk to get lost. Every moment Shin Hyuk and Hye Jin act as Oppa and Dongsaeng, I swear Seong Joon wants to curve a cricket bat round him. Actually lemme correct that- he does swing a backhand round Shin Hyuk’s head. Went a little too far there I think bruh…
Whilst Seong Joon goes up Shin Hyuk comes down. He sees the pictures Seong Joon sneakily took of Hye Jin out of awe and he does not look pleased. His face during a run said it all. Even when Seong Joon comes back to the office the next day exploding with rainbows and positivity, he looks so pissed with him.
But he returns to his happy self (thankfully) once he gets his alone time with dear old Jackson. She ruins it by telling him how she’s going to confess everything. Forget that significant point for now because his dead dongsaeng was actually his dog. HIS DOG. Did you read that? I would of gone just as ballistic as Hye Jin because that is a parrrrr. How you gonna resemble someone’s dog! 😂
The whole episode however ends with confessions. Shin Hyuks being the cutest and weirdest. He literally tells her like it was a long lost secret he just discovered. However she doesn’t seem to take it as seriously. To me it felt like his confession got brushed over and hidden under the carpet. Because of that I felt a little bad for him, because she has no sort of feelings towards him.
Simultaneously Ha Ri confesses whilst Seong Joon babbles on about his day with Hye Jin. I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT. I knew Shin Hyuk would be the first to discover everything. Whilst Ha Ri leans in for a kiss, Hye Jin and Shin Hyuk are literally on the other side play fighting. Him seeing them immediately back hugs Hye Jin to prevent her from seeing. Because of course it being only episode 7 they weren’t going to reveal all so soon.
Moving onto Ep 8, everything tumbles down once again. Shin Hyuk finally connecting the dots asks Hye Jin how close is her friend that’s covering for her. It must have been Ha Ri’s mum that Hye Jin’s mum was texting as she tells him that they were best friends. Also it turns out Ha Ri’s mum left her and that’s the reason she doesn’t believe in true love. Because when Hye Jin overhears her screwing some guy for calling Seong Joon a bast*** she begins cheering her for finding true love. Awkward…
Seong Joon on the other hand seems to be desperately trying to work out his confused feelings. He doesn’t respond to her confession earlier either. That was a little awkward because you would usually say something accepting or rejecting it right? Instead he shows an etching they made in the past and Ha Ri looks so uncomfortable. I mean I like their combo but as a relationship it doesn’t seem to sit right in my head. I think it’s because Seong Joon is actually similar to Ha Ri a lot, and maybe thats why Hye Jin likes him in a romantic way. Since he resembles Ha Ri to her. I don’t know but it’s just my opinion- do you think so to?
Dude however ends up crashing into someone when he sees Shin Hyuk giving Hye Jin a piggyback ride because she rips her shoes. Because of this he ends up turning up to Ha Ri’s date late. We could all sense your hesitance and guilt Seong Joon. When he pulls her into that hug, even he must have realised how much he was wavering. He does later try making it up but absolutely zones out of the date. Looks like someone’s going to be apologising way more.
His feelings aren’t helped either by him seeing all the remnants of Hye Jin in Hye Jin. He finally hears her say “let’s go”. Just when you feel like this little gesture would get them closer he turns into demon Joon once again. Because sales are still behind he goes HAMMMM on the rest of them. I swear that girl was brave to stay so composed. I would of whacked him for talking to me like that and grabbing my hand. So inevitably Hye Jin gets trapped because she was supposed to supervise the dress. HE DIDN’T HAVE TO FIRE HER THOUGH! Like come on, it wasn’t even her fault and he jumps the gun and shoots. Not gonna lie his words when he did fire her, seemed to imply other emotions. As if he wanted her to stop confusing his life.
Who else but Shin Hyuk to come to the rescue. He tells Ha Ri that he knows everything and advises her the right thing to do. That is to tell Seong Joon now herself before things get ugly. Of course he doesn’t know Hye Jin just got fired so Ha Ri doesn’t end up telling Seong Joon. Feel like her meeting Hye Jin to comfort her after being fired was another excuse to hide herself if you see what I mean. Not in a bad way but more like she’s safe for now sort of thing.
Shin Hyuk you are too nice. He ends up coming up with a concept which Seong Join actually likes for the magazine. Funnily it’s the concept that we saw Hye Jin say in the very first episode about supporting characters being just as important. Turns out he actually got the idea from her anyway and uses it as a way to get Seong Joon to apologise to Hye Jin. What I mean by he was way too nice is that he could of just forgot about it and carried on chilling with Hye Jin himself. Instead he makes Seong Joon realise that he actually has some sort of feelings for her. #ASlowClapForShinHyukEverbody
The ending… I was screaming like a lunatic. After Seong Joon’s failed attempt to apologise and invite Hye Jin back to the company. Yeah all that failed stalking- you’re like how tall how do you expect to sneak around a playground stealthily. You ain’t no assassin dude. But then it seems she sucked up her pride after not getting a job offering as well as seeing her father struggling and returns. BUT SHE HAD A MAKEOVER!!!!! WAHHHHH I WAS WAITING FOR THIS FOR TOO LONNGGGG. Do you understand my feelings right now? Everytime Ra Ra mentioned she needed to change I was slyly thinking it would come. But it came now?!
In Ep 7 when Han Seol commences operation trap Joon Woo but absolutely fails. Not even in style either- she fails miserably. Han Seol ends up getting diarrhoea and having to release in the middle of nowhere. I just loved how she tried to stay positive at every step but she broke in the end. Her positivity was epic because I would have legged it in the opposite direction. To be honest Seol it worked in your favour at the end. I like this couple and Joon Woo is actually kinda hot.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these. For me it had to obviously be Ra Ra’s quote about how people hesitate when they want to say one thing but their heart actually wants to say another. It’s so true! I loved that she played that mini game with them to decide on which dress to go with. It actually works you know, whatever you want to say, say it in 3 seconds because that’s usually what you’re actually thinking.
