I love love love love loved this episode. It did not disappoint and I know I’m late but it was worth it because now I have less waiting time till the next episode.
In the first episode there was an elevator scene that confused me but I finally cleared my confusion. We see Hye Jin jump on the elevator and then Han Sul (Shin Hye Sun and yes I was happy to see Eun Hee back). Due to weight the elevator won’t go down so Hye Jin gets off and originally I thought it was to exaggerate that she’s treated as second class. But then Sung Joon being the blunt-faced-bitch (you will see what I mean) tells Han Sul to get out. Additionally Sung Joon clearly came back to Korea to rekindle his first love as he mentions he’s back to find his umbrella. Does this happen in real life? I can’t even remember my first love, what if she’s an absolute bitch?
Following from last week’s big reveal Hye Jin literally legs it causing Shin Hyuk to wonder if she has digestive problems. He seems to have taken a weird interest in her, not sure what it is but i feel like it may be because of her chaotic character that draws him to her. In fact throughout we see Hye Jin’s anger/annoyance towards Shin Hyuk as he teases her and plays around with her a lot. To begin with she looks like she wants to kill him when she finds out that it was because of his insistence that she got transferred to their department. Him not realising the boiling anger explains the reasons why she was perfect instead of hiring a trustworthy part-timer. For once your talents are being recogonised and they want you! Stop ruining your decisions. Shin Hyuk’s character, though laid-back, sometimes seems a little over exaggerated but I don’t hate it. It just seems a little OTT at times.
Han Sul ends up covering her face with her hair once she notices who he is when she introduces herself. In panic Hye Jin obviously confides in Ha Ri whilst screeching her panic down the phone. These two literally remind me of that friend combo where one is so chilled whilst the other overthinks everything. I would probably be Hye Jin- although part of me feels like she also wants him to notice her. As if it may spark something. I’m not sure if I’m making sense but just a thought. Ha Ri’s solution to calming her the f*** down is to grab her manager’s pants. Yeah I was slightly confused myself too until I realised what she meant.
After hiding from Sung Joon again and doing her frantic wave in front of the automatic doors (I don’t know why either) she hides in the toilet. Ha Ri comes to the rescue again into the hysterical Hye Jin. She orders her to get off the lid and face the breddah because she’s risking her job over it. Upon hearing these words of encouragement she goes head on but does a u-turn and runs like a frantic chicken when she sees a Sung Joon look-a-like. This moment just reminded me of that episode of Friends when Rachel is embarrassed by the way Phoebe runs- Phoebe would be Hye Jin btw. I was even embarrassed for Hye Jin. Not gonna lie if I saw BTS I would of ran the same way, except in the right direction. Fate just had to be that she gets trapped in the elevator accidentally with the real Sung Joon. This is what you get for not having balls. Of course the elevator had to be broken and she begins to have her panic attacks as she feels like he may notice who she really is at anytime. Really Hye Jin? Not even over the fact that he’s smokin’ hawt so time to whip out the sly photo skills. He on the other hand thinking she has claustrophobia ends up helping her the same way she did years ago.
Ha Ri is the assistant manager at a Hotel and we get some insight into her past. Seems like she has family issues as was evident from her mother’s visit and I think she despises her. She rejects her call and talks bluntly with her implicating that their relationship is not good at all. Isn’t the same with all daughters #IFeelYourPainHaRi
Hye Jin gets her first screwing by Sung Joon when she goes to help at the set for the first time. Of course her not knowing anything about the department she accidentally walks on set with her shoes. Things get a little ugly and he slates her pretty hard. The way he came at her even I was scared and embarrassed for her. Though she’s actually better off in this department because despite her external flaws her Team don’t treat her as if she’s invisible.
Well apart from the Chief Editor who has told her she needs to fix up to look like she’s at least part of the team. This woman seriously runs the place with her very exuding personality. We find that she has a nephew working in the company and I have a feeling it may be Shin Hyuk. Especially since he mentions earlier that he asked to transfer Hye Jin and the Chief agreed straight away. Han Sul is also on the hunt for the nephew so she can secure her rich future. And did anyone catch the fact that overtime Ra-Ra sat down you could hear her clothes squeak? That why tight clothing is a no-no.
After work Hye Jin looks like she just got dragged through hell and back. We finally find out that the reason why Hye Jin hates rain as Sung Joon overhears Hye Jin explaining to Kim Ra-Ra that her hair has always been curly. Flashback to the bus incident, she explains to Sung Joon that she inherited her frizzy hair from her father so she’s always got it straightened to cover it up. So that explains the umbrella gift from the last episode; she hates walking in the rain because of her hair. Sung Joon remembering this ends up emailing Hye Jin. The crappy day puts Hye Jin in such a depressed mood that she begins to consider resignation. The email interrupts them and Ha Ri comes up with a genius reply to concrete that Hye Jin will never be found out. Well at least it was a genius idea till the ending.
A bad dream of confrontation from Sung Joon telling her that she should of stayed hidden in her current state pushes her to put through her resignation letter. They also had to include a Super Junior reference didn’t they…
Sung Joon is such a buzzkill… and a bitch. He outs the whole team’s ideas for the next issue and tells them that their previous issues were absolute shit. I know right, I would of wanted to box him. On top of that he kicks out Hye jin as well because she looks lost af. Bruh calm down! It wasn’t bad enough that the meeting was a disaster but whilst they’re playing games he throws his credit card for them to buy lunch since they had nothing useful to say in the meeting. Sung Joon also rejects a welcome party. #DudeYouNeedJamz However he may have a reason for the harsh comments as he tells the Ra-Ra that the magazine will be discontinued and disbanded if they don’t achieve the number 1 spot. He for once says something nice as he tells her they all have talent but need to be pushed more otherwise they won’t be able to find a job if the magazine discontinues.
Ok I was as confused as Hye Jin when I saw Sung Joon drop after walking into the door. Not sure if it was a dream or something but that was a little weird. Anyway after much inhaling, failure and nervousness Hye Jin asks the all-important question. But the reply was exactly what she was afraid of.
Turns out that it was a good thing she heard what he had to say because it had the opposite effect. Finally she doesn’t give a flying f*** about his comments- YAAAAS. Peak times when he’s right behind you though whilst you’re parring him.
The ending though- I thought Ha Ri and Sung Joon would miss each other at the hotel but considering the episode was going to end I knew that he was going to notice her. Wonder how Ha Ri’s going to get out of this one, especially because her name tag says Min Ha Ri.
