Soon Ho eventually calls up Hyun about Jung Ha’s condition. Unfortunately for Ji An, yet again she is left hanging as he drops her off on the side to make her own way. This girl can’t catch a break! Even before this she tries to clear the tension whilst they’re driving but Hyun pretty much tells her to hush.
It’s interesting because the more and more Sun Ho makes an appearance the more I feel like he may be the younger brother. He also seems to give off a jealous vibe whenever Hyun bonds with Ji An or Jung Ha. Exhibit A:
You got to have been cracking up like me when Team Leader Kang and Myeong Woo came to conclusion that Hyun’s weakness is chasing culprits. Bruh…
Backkktracckkk! Yes you heard me! We find out from Jin Woo’s mother that the boy has never actually met his birth father. In fact Jung Ha’s father killed him. Say what? Even Hyun looks like he wants to slap someone. Basically Jin Woo misunderstood that Jung Ha’s father was actually his because he finds clippings his mum had kept from the accident. He comes to the conclusion that because he is a murderer his mother left him and remarried. That’s why he killed the last witness to Jung Ha’s crimes as a way to get closer to him as it is blatant that he is yearning a father figure. Was I just mind f****d by a Kdrama?
Whilst Sun Ho discusses the wolf story Jung Ha ends up drifting off and not gonna lie Sun Ho gives off a rather suspicious look. Anyway the story I’m not gonna explain but it’s just basically about the internal battle of good and evil. I found it funny though how Ji An after noticing Hyun’s expression once seeing Jung Ha deflated she tries to ‘hint’ at Sun Ho for them to leave. Not sure if it was intentional but Sun Ho seemed like he wasn’t getting the message at first.
Sun Ho’s wish gets fulfilled since he finally gets to share a drink with Ji An. I still don’t know if he has an underlying motive for why he’s moving onto her or if he has some interest. He shares his curiosity with her about what Hyun and Jung Ha are to each other. Unlike Ji An however, he can’t seem to figure out Hyun’s personal feelings involved since he doesn’t know about Hyun’s back story.
Sadly Jung Ha passes away. I was disheartened because I was hoping he would at least have become an ally for Hyun but I guess it wouldn’t make sense for him to stay. Before he goes he reiterates the fact that he tried everyday to make sure he didn’t turn out like his murderous father. Hyun begins to relate as he begins to tear up at Jung Ha’s words. Hyun ends up avenging those feelings when he goes to visit his father in prison and informs him that because of his idiocy one boy life’s has been ruined and his son has died. It definitely struck a chord once he heard about his son
Earlier on in the episode Ji An asks Hyun unintentionally on a date and it actually goes better than I thought it might. I have to admit, in the beginning when she couldn’t decide an outfit and switches from cute to comfy casual I was thinking that is me on a regular basis. Sometimes I feel like dressing up but then I look at myself and think, ‘nah I look like I’m trying too hard’ and just stick to my jeans and tee. Moving on, their date ends up being at an abandoned amusement park where Ji An used to go with her dad. She and a forced Lee Hyun pretend to go on the non working rides. At the end of it Hyun seems to finally show some signs of understanding Ji An’s own personal pains that she must have went through when she lost her father because she shows a different softer side of her.
During their date someone tries creeping on them and Hyun seems to think it has something to do with Joon Ho. It seems I was right that he’s been suspecting Joon Ho for a while. He asks Ji An to get his hand written autopsy reports and his Art Directing hyung to hire a private investigator to do a check on the whole of the team. I feel like his debt is never going to be repaid, honestly how big is his debt?
It turns out it was Sun Ho who was creeping on them as he looks through photos of both of them on their date. But why is he so interested is what I’m thinking. Remember I said Sun Ho may be Hyun’s brother? Well we see a reappearance of that gruesome artwork in his room whilst he suspiciously calling someone about ‘dealing’ with both Hyun and Ji An. He begins following Ji An on purpose whilst she’s grocery shopping and even gives her a lift when her car happens to break down. This guy is shady, because when he gets her bags out it looks like he purposely left one item in his car possibly to follow her afterwards. I found out I was wrong that it was him who was stalking her as a third-party seems to be involved. Before the episode finishes we see someone standing right behind her when she gets home but we don’t see who it is. To confuse me even more Hyun also gets another clue card with a picture of a car- wtf?? First some random flowers now a car. There were flowers present the previous time he got the card. Maybe something to do with Ji An?
More like moments. Basically the parts in the episode where Ji An and Hyun came a little closer into an odd relationship. Of course it’s more of a partnership but you can’t deny there were feelings bouncing around all over the place in the episode. First of all Hyun had some sly subtle feelings of affection (or is it may be consideration?) for Ji An when he notices her lip bruise after arresting Jin Woo. But then he always has to ruin the mood by taking the piss out of her. Jheeze!
But then Ji An finally speaks up (unintentionally it seems) when she meets up with Hyun and confesses that she doesn’t think of him as a monster. She also ends up slyly asking him on a date unexpectedly, it was so cringey but cute because she had no idea on how to react.
( But that seriously what is it with Joon Ho and knives? Literally every episode he has a knife and some stupid creepy music begins to play. )
