Ok I need to apologise for my lack of posts for this series. If I’m going to be perfectly honest I sort of lost interest for the drama but I think that’s mainly because I was hooked onto Oh My Ghost. But anyway I didn’t want to leave it undone, especially because Seo In Guk is in it. Lemme just say I’m glad I went back because my god episode 6.
The episode begins off with a conversation between the Prosecutor and Lee Hyun as he tries to dig deeper into the Prosecutor’s possible tainted methods. However he doesn’t confess anything directly but instead tells Hyun that it was a matter of the benefits outweighing the losses. But the main point of this scene was Hyun discovering that his father may have had a role in getting Joon Young arrested. On top of that it turns out he’s actually lost his memory twice. After the Prosecutor tells him this however he gets knocked out and the Prosecutor disappears. But i feel like he’s previously been in some sort murder scene because he begins to get flashbacks of I presume his mother screaming and lilies.
I’m not sure if all my facts are correct but I tried to understand it from what I could remember. The main highlight of this episode was centred on a new character- Lee Jung Hwa. We see him initially be given Lee Hyun’s book by an unknown person with a note telling him to attend his lecture. It turns out that he has some interesting questions that connect with Lee Hyun’s past experiences. As a murderer’s son he gives a worrying speech that he thinks he will inevitably turn out like his dad. He seems to get this impression from Lee Hyun’s book. Of course you can tell instantly that Lee Hyun felt some sort of protectiveness over him after hearing his worry. I felt so bad for Team Leader Kang whose request gets flat out refused and Ji An who as usual is put last place of Lee Hyun’s priorities. It’s ok Team Leader Kang I acknowledge you!
Earlier in the episode we see Ji An reminisce over the time Lee Hyun was hiding at hers- feels much B? But things go wrong for her when she discovers a sticky note on a picture of her and her father from him indicating that he remembers who she is. Turns out he was deceiving her whilst she was deceiving him- yeah I was lost too. But it the night he entered hers to hide he put the date of Joon Young’s escape date for her pass code. So he already had an idea that it was because of Joon Young that she was following him, especially since he also found the investigation report of the murder, which she had stolen and hidden, from the director. We also find that both of them met for the first time at the police station where she was screaming that her dad was not an accomplice. She also ends up stumbling across Lee Hyun when she finds out that he was also a victim of Joon Young.
Lee Hyun treats Joon Ho for dinner for helping him. I swear there’s something iffy with this guy, when he picks up the knife to help Hyun that stupid creepy, something’s-gonna-happen music decides to come on. Anyway throughout the episode my suspicion over this guys gets confirmed and I think it’s the same for Lee Hyun. The first hint comes when Hyun gets a call from Eun Bok (now that’s a different name) telling him that the first person to see Prosecutor Yang’s scene was Joon Ho. The dinner scene was so awks, not like they didn’t have anything to talk about to begin with, so now the added suspicion makes things even more awkward.
Additionally Joon Ho jumps at the opportunity to come with Hyun to help him at the hospital once we find out that Jung Hwa has become a murder suspect. What confused me even more was when Hyun ends up calling Sun Ho to be the kid’s lawyer. I was like bish wah? I thought you despised the guy. Not gonna lie Sun Ho is beginning to grab my attention more when he turned up all bawse mode on the officers with his lawyer speak. But it turns out that he and Joon Ho know each other, and it doesn’t seem like in a collegial way either. Joon Ho’s face seems to imply some sort of background shit that we’re probably not gonna find out till later. Anyway did anyone catch the moment when Ji An got bareee gassed when she had the slightest hope that Hyun called her to go out somewhere.
It turns out he actually called her to convince the other team to hand over the case to her team. But that’s beside the point, Team Leader Kang I am so proud of you. For once someone catches Hyun! You sly sly guy managing to to use Hyun’s desperation to see the scene to your advantage to get him to agree to be the team’s special advisor. Everyone lets give him a slow clap of appreciation.
When they play out what could have happened at the scene, Hyun comes up with the theory that it was not Jung Hwa but a third person. But as Ji An can see clearly it seems like he’s desperate to prove the kids innocence as he refuses to consider the other possibilities.
But Is Sun Ho trying to make moves on Ji An? Am I going blind? I’m seriously glad I watched this episode because it’s actually drawn me back to this drama.
However Hyun may be onto something because when he goes to pick up the wolf story book for Jung Hwa he finds a picture of the kid and his brother. We also see a scene where this ‘brother’ goes to meet his father in jail too. Not only that but Hyun discovers the post it note we saw earlier when Jung Hwa received the book in the beginning. He automatically makes the link that someone must have purposely sent Jung Hwa to him. WTF? I am so confused right now… this is what I get for stopping the drama mid way.
It then switches to Sun Ho coming in on the doctors going frantic over Jung Hwa because of a sudden liver infection. Who the hell?! Something fishy is going on. Ji An and Hyun’s conversation at the end of the episode. He tells her that he’s interested in Jung Hwa because he doubts himself as to whether or not he is a murderer. So he then comes to the conclusion that Ji An hid her identity because she see’s him on the same level as Joon Young. Because she doubts him. > I don’t know this conversation sort of confused me a little so I’m hoping the next episode will help me.
The teams reaction to when they find out Lee Hyun has become their official advisor. In a lot of Kdramas I’ve noticed i become very attached to the side groups of the main characters. They just make me wish my life was like that.
