So it was inevitable that Bong Sun and Sun Woo were eventually going to be found out. Initially Ji Woong overhears their plans on how they can both sneak out of the restaurant to go on a date. Ji Woong tries relaying his newfound information to Min Soo and Dong Chul but they refuse to believe him. Of course we know that Seo Joon knows already so he just smiles to himself when Min Soo promises that he will castrate himself if it is true. Min Soo I’m not sure if that was a wise thing to say cause bruh… you got no ratings among your friends already, we wouldn’t want the same in the female department. Also, why does his love radar look like Karen from Mean Girls using her boobs to tell the weather?
Even after they notice exactly what Ji Woong says being carried out in front of them they still refuse to believe him. They’re going to definitely regret this later.
Eventually they believe him as Sun Woo releases the secret to everyone after he gets angry with the way Bong Sun gets treated by So Hyung’s director. Not gonna lie I really wanted to punch that director, like seriously dude, ever heard that patience is a virtue? He reminds me of my mother when she won’t stop whining to me on how low my standards are :,) Shocked by Sun Woo’s outburst Min Soo and the rest go out for air and the boys pretend to castrate him. What I found hilarious was how Min Soo quickly switches his attitude with Bong Sun from a criticizing senior to world class Oppa.
After many drinks, a drunken Bong Sun and a over-complimenting So Hyung- I mean seriously So Hyung it will always be hard to hate you because your actually the most realistic person in the drama! Bong Sun decides to ask So Hyung an interesting question. People are naturally selfish when they are in dire situations? She’s probably thinking about how both Soon Ae and Sun Woo have been the opposite of this quotation to her. It switches to some insight into her past as she mentions that this moment in her life is the happiest she has ever been because before that she was always gloomy, quiet and no one wanted to talk to her.
Of course throughout the whole episode hints of Sun Woo’s attraction to Soon Ae’s habits are evident. I sort of saw something like this happening since he was in contact with Soon Ae’s personality not Bong Sun’s. So everything he does and comments on has a connection to what Soon Ae and him have experienced before. But at least she’s perseverant as she practices all night to perfect her dish; I feel like this side of her she gets from herself as well as Soon Ae. I say Soon Ae because she keeps telling herself that she needs to be confident in her abilities, which is the mindset Soon Ae taught her to have. I see you Choi trying to creep on Bong Sun! Thank Buddha Sun Woo was there!
Choi slaps Eun Hee’s hand away again when she tries to take a look at his boo boo after he slices it with a knife when he got frustrated with Bong Sun. He apologises immediately and she tells him that it’s refreshing for him to be angry instead of a saint. I still keep thinking why does he still keep Eun Hee near him; I mean he could have killed her a long time ago? Or just let her fall off the building at the hospital and saved him the hassle of ever being found out.
On the other hand, after last week’s departure Soon Ae stays at Ahjumma’s, depressed. She stays motionless despite Ahjumma’s requests to eat etc. It was so cute to see how Ahjumma despite screwing her for developing feelings, still looks after her by placing food and shuffling Hye Young out when she begins to chat about her son. Eventually Soon Ae comes to the decision to do the ritual for the dead to ascend so she begins to say her goodbyes. She begins with her family of course and I found it really touching what she tells Kyung Mo. It was nice to see that despite their arguments they were actually pretty close siblings. Aish I wish they could just literally see each other at this point!
However she comes across Sun Woo on TV and her feelings come rushing back as she murmurs to herself that she wants to see him one last time. Whilst she makes her way to the restaurant she pushes Bong Sun out of the way of a car. I’m surprised she was able to touch her to begin with but maybe it’s because Bong Sun is a shaman? Bong Sun attempts to apologise to Soon Ae but she dismisses her telling her it was none of her fault. Her last words to Bong Sun were: “Bong Sun, be happy please”, to me that sounded like a desperate call for her to live her life well otherwise she would feel guilty for her actions and feelings.
Soon Ae FINALLY ends up catching Choi behind the wheel and witnesses him kill a drunken man for trying to pick a fight with him. To be honest Choi it was your fault to begin with but let me shut my mouth before I also get killed off. Straight away she tells Ahjumma about what she witnessed and that she can’t ascend until Bong Sun is safe. I don’t think she’s made the connection to her own death yet but at least she’s finally on the right path to finding out given the time limit she’s on at the moment.
Unfortunately we get another moment where Bong Sun feels out of place when Sun Woo asks her to make the fried rice Soon Ae made for him a while ago. They venture out for a walk to Namsan, which is something Soon Ae mentioned she never had gone. Things get even more uncomfortable as he tells her how he’s getting used to so many foreign feelings because of her but he’s happy to at least be with her. Also he mentions that he was the most grateful to her after the bully incident but Bong Sun begins to admit and realise that she played no part in any of it. So what does she do? She decides to tell him on the Ferris wheel ride that it wasn’t her he loved but a ghost… Bong Sun why did you pick such timing? I mean now you have to stand there like awkward turtles until the ride finishes. But yes that was the ultimate problem of their whole situation, both love him but whom did he really fall in love with?
