The majority of this episode is filled with mini dates between Sun Woo and Bong Sun, which at first I wasn’t looking forward to, but now that I’m noticing small changes in Bong Sun I’m getting used to it. You know what, Bong Sun actually surprised me in this episode. In that she’s been much more vocal and less boring. So of course she gets her free date with Sun Woo in the beginning when they go off to eat pancakes in Hongdae. After their mini ‘date’ Sun Woo actually gets jealous of a guitarist on the street and starts to sing and play guitar to impress her Bong Sun through the walls.
He next gets her on a fitness journey with him to only find out that she doesn’t actually know how to ride a bike. Surprisingly Bong Sun actually steps up her game when she out-does Sun Woo’s change trick and catches the bike seat thief by cleverly running through a short cut and biting him. Yup I was surprised Bong Sun actually could do such things.
After the bike incident Officer Choi gets suspicious of the two working out together. But what scares me is when he ends up taking Bong Sun out for a meal later on and he begins to sympathise with her as well show us a little into his emotions. I think I’m fine with not knowing thanks. He does however keep pushing her to explain why she’s been acting out and to tell him her problems, thankfully she hesitates.
However things go a little crazy after this because now So Hyung’s character has become more active in the series. After their exercise session she catches both of them being extra touchy and friendly with each other. She even gets shocked when conversing with Sun Woo about Bong Sun as he attempts to explains all his actions and reasons in regards to Bong Sun.
But the employees are the funniest when they catch both of their conversation and end up gossiping about how good-looking she is. They do end up in an interesting debate over whether cute or cool women are more attractive.
After seeing the two of them together So Hyung starts to have thoughts about Sun Woo until she gets interrupted by her sunbae- you know the one that almost got obliterated by Sun Woo? He asks her the vital question, ‘do you like Sun Woo?’ , which she denies. But you can see her feelings change slightly when she calls Sun Woo to ask if she should date her sunbae’s junior.
Meanwhile ahjumma takes Soon Ae home and tells her she’s going to let her go up peacefully by performing a ritual. I understand ahjumma’s side sine Soon Ae only has a few months left before she turns into an evil spirit so it’s best if she left now rather than risking it later. But Soon Ae doesn’t want to as it’s a painful process and because she wants to resolve her grudge. She tells ahjumma of her plan and how Sun Woo is the man of vitality. Ahjumma’s reaction was sweet; I found it heart-warming that she actually cares that he is her ‘friend’s ‘ son.
Soon Ae eventually gets taken to do the ritual but her evil spirit leaps out and cuts ahjumma on the cheek forcing them to stop. It turns out since she is so close to the deadline, that the evil spirit has already started manifesting inside her therefore she’s left with pretty dim choices. It was nice to see their relationship portrayed as if they were sisters, because at one point whilst ahjumma is distracted Soon Ae goes to escape but she doesn’t get stopped. Instead ahjumma lets her go to find her own peace. It’s just nice to see that even though Soon Ae is a lonely ghost she does have her own ghost family who care for her.
Poor Kyung Mo and his father, since Soon Ae promised to take him for exercise, they begin to wonder where she is. He ends up calling Bong Sun to find her walk straight past them. Kyung Mo, dude, your feels are too much to handle >v<
Back to So Hyung she ends up taking her date to Sun Woo’s restaurant, on purpose and the kitchen gets tense. She confronts Sun Woo about his thoughts of her date and if she should go out with him again. Sun Woo responds pretty badly and as if he doesn’t really care causing her to tear up as well as turning down her date. On the other hand Soon Ae catches up with Bong Sun to enter her body, it’s funny how she keeps running at her and they just end up looking like a Tom and Jerry episode. However Soon Ae comes across Bong Sun’s scrapbook full of Sun Woo and makes the connection. So Soon Ae confesses her true intentions and negotiates with Bong Sun that if she enters her body and seduces him for her whilst simultaneously fulfilling her grudge. Not gonna lie Soon Ae speaks some truth in this conversation… if it wasn’t for her Bong Sun won’t be where she is.
Initially Bong Sun rejects Soon Ae’s proposition until she witnesses So Hyung and Sun Woo kiss. Yes you read that right, after their fight, a drunken So Hyung wanders back to the restaurant and just goes for it after he takes long to respond to her all important question.
Bong Sun immediately begins to think about what Soon Ae said about how she will never get him with her personality and that given So Hyung’s status in Sun Woo’s life, it’s only a matter of time before they hook up. On the other hand Soon Ae meets up with her ghost sister to vent about how dead or alive your life is always sh**.
Bong Sun, however, comes to Soon Ae’s rescue to diminish her worries as she gives her permission to use her body as a host. But that gasp at the end by Kim Seul Gi… too funny!
Has to be both when Sun Woo goes under a underwear interrogation from his mother. I just love her boldness and optimism. Especially when she comes out with slightly burnt toast and they all compliment her for her improvement on her cooking. Don’t worry Hye Young I can’t cook either! My other moment was when ahjumma despite not having anything to eat, rejects Hye Young’s request for free food. It’s so nice to see how she’s starting to accept her as a friend rather than just a client and all I could say was ‘poor ahjumma’. I mean 3 ramyun packets? I would of jumped on it.
