Ok I’m going to have to say this from the get go but the final episode I found slightly boring in comparison to the other episodes that have come. I’m not sure if it was the predictability of the episode or what but I’m just assuming it’s because it was easy to tell what was going to happen. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that I did love the series overall! I think the main thing that made me happy in this episode, and of course probably for a lot of other people, was seeing everyone caught and Chae Yeon cry. So my review for the episode is going to be pretty much a snapshot of all the events.
So in the beginning of this episode Tae Hee uncovers the voice he hears over the phone at the end of the previous episode. He initially goes to his grandmother and asks her for identification of the watch he retrieved from the chemical explosion years ago. She explains to him that it was a Winner Group employee’s watch because it was given as a prize winning. He then comes into contact with Director Kim at the house and then connects his voice to the phone recording. Team Leader Choi also confirms the voice to Tae Hee.
Sara ends up proposing to Tae Hee in a similar fashion to how he did for her with candles, balloons flowers etc. This is after she finds out that he kept both the rings and her wedding dress. Of course it wasn’t difficult to know that he was clearly going to say YES! I found it so sweet how she went about it and it was nice to see the reversal as in the recent episodes it was him who was constantly asking her questions and fighting for her. But this time she finally takes on that role.
Unfortunately this cute scene follows with a phone call between Tae Hee and Kang Joon. At the end of the last episode Kang Joon calls Tae Hee to remind him that Sara is still legally Kang Joon’s wife so they cannot get married until he agrees to. I guess it was inevitable that after the proposal from Sara, Tae Hee would obviously call Kang Joon to discuss a negotiation which turns out to be giving Kang Joon money to settle overseas as well as a fake passport and identity. However Kang Joon tries to play double agent here by offering Min Hyuk, Tae Hee when they meet in exchange for money.
Min Hyuk turns to Director Kim to re-enact the chemical explosion and kill Tae Hee before the shareholders meeting. Nevertheless Tae Hee ends up contacting Director Kim and reveals to him that he knows everything about his involvement yet confesses that his real aim is not to put him in jail but to use this as a way of ensuring Min Hyuk and his mother pay for their crimes. Not surprisingly Director Kim refuses to admit to anything and straightaway tells Min Hyuk’s mother. However from this scene you see Director Kim stray away from Min Hyuk’s side as he reiterates the fact that his mother is only and has only ever been looking out for Min Hyuk.
Chae Yeon seriously? She tells her brother that she’s going to meet up with Tae Hee because she knows that he won’t refuse to help her in her time of need. In stark contrast Ji Hoon points out that she needs to do some reflection of her actions instead of becoming a bigger mess. Like Tae Hee was even going to bother helping her anyway! I was glad to see that Chae Yeon never actually completes her trip because she bumps into Sara on the way. She goes a little crazy about the fact that no one seems to be forgiving her but everyone forgives Sara despite it all. But Sara speaks some wise words to her:
Tae Hee proves he is an actual genius (not that I needed much convincing before). The whole shareholder-meeting day he proves himself beyond doubt. Whilst he’s setting up the money and the fake passport for Kang Joon he mentions that it seems iffy that the meet up is before the shareholder meeting. He therefore tells Sara to go to his grandmothers and also hand over a letter that explains the responsibilities between Director Kim, Min Hyuk and his mother and tells her to call the police as soon as she receives the letter.
Kang Joon obviously at the warehouse has goons to kill Tae Hee as he escapes. I found it so funny how both Kang Joon and Min Hyuk were so sure they had succeeded in their respective plans. Beginning with Min Hyuk, he’s so confident that even when 67% vote for him not to become the CEO. He fearlessly states that the shareholders basically have no other choice but to accept him as Tae Hee isn’t present. But low and behold Tae Hee turns up along with the detective and Director Kim to arrest Min Hyuk for attempted murder and Min Hyuk’s mother for murder. Oh wait Tae Hee also gets voted for CEO.
Tae Hee also catches Kang Joon because he cleverly planted a tracking device on him as well utilising the passport as a trap because once it gets scanned it alerts the police automatically. Thusly he gets arrested (thank sweet Buddha) and I found it so sweet that when his family turns up at the station the father in law wishes Sara the best and apologises.
Even Chae Yeon gets ran after as Sara tells the detective that she has the black box video and was using it as blackmail. Sadly she didn’t acquire any legal consequences (I know I was disappointed too) since Sara is still alive. Ji Hoon tells her she should give the building back to Sara but it seems she may have learnt her lesson as she says she’s not ready to face Sara as of yet. Instead Ji Hoon decides to pay her off to go and study overseas. She does see Tae Hee one final time but decides to leave quietly without saying anything. For once she’s being humane.
Oh did I mention? They got married! Yes we were all just waiting for it!
The conversation at the end of the episode with her friend where she tells her not to change her looks was certainly inspiring. I think I’m going to let Sara explain…
Sara & Tae Hee Moments:
I just wanted to highlight the lovey dovey moments between Sara and Tae Hee in another section altogether just because they weren’t entirely the main part of the episode but still they were major highlights in how illustrating how Tae Hee and Sara are once and for all together!
