Finally you find out exactly what the arrangement between Min Hyuk and Sara was; basically in return for Tae Hee’s ‘safety’ from prosecution (emphasis added) Sara accepted the model contract for Min Hyuk’s new ventures and attend the a business event with him. Thus Min Hyuk cancels the bankruptcy proceedings against Tae Hee.
Throughout the whole episode Tae Hee and Sara’s relationship is pretty much a tug of war; who is to give in to honesty first. Initially Tae Hee, confused by why Sara is so attached to Min Hyuk after breaking up with him, presses Sara for why she has chosen Min Hyuk. Sara reveals (of course her fake feelings) that someone with power like Min Hyuk would help achieve her goal in comparison to Tae Hee. From the conversation I couldn’t entirely tell what her goal was but I’m assuming it is to bring down Kang Joon and ensure Tae Hee’s position, especially since she believes that he was the one behind Tae Hee’s beating. Unsurprisingly Chae Yeon hears about Sara’s recent activities and immediately starts to stir shit up basically. She tells grandmother about how Sara is now following after Min Hyuk after dumping Tae Hee implying to her that she’s nothing but a gold digger.
Kang Joon and his whole family are basically in a state of limbo in this episode. His mother and sisters keep sitting on edge wondering whether Chae Yeon would release the black box video. Kang Joon, whom is materially destitute, stalks Sara to get her to follow his plan in order to get payback. Him threatening her was probably a bad move since afterwards she confesses to Min Hyuk that she believes that Kang Joon is the killer. This to Min Hyuk is pretty much hilarious since he knows it was himself behind the whole ordeal and actually turns it around to play along with her perception of blaming Kang Joon. Kang Joon, though offended and betrayed, as stated by Min Hyuk has no other choice.
The one affectionate moment between Tae Hee and Sara is the scene where she upon hearing that Tae Hee has no employees to help with making the riceballs, decides to do it herself. He catches her although she plays it off by stating that Min Hyuk was the one who told her to help him because he’s trying to help Tae Hee. Tae Hee of course knows that part is utter bullshit yet both of them are completely stubborn and won’t give in to their true intentions. Sara’s being to do everything she can, even if that means signing with the enemy Min Hyuk to support Tae Hee to success as CEO. Honestly I don’t understand why she does not logically think about the fact that Min Hyuk is pretty much in a succession war with Tae Hee so will do everything to bring him down. They just keep making up excuses to stay near each other.
Anyway he stays there while she cooks and you seem feeling being rekindled when she burns her hands on the hotpot but sadly for Sara Min Hyuk catches her helping Tae Hee.
As mentioned above Kang Joon’s family are sitting on edge but the female side of the family as usual, not being very discreet, reveal to Kang Joon’s father about the black box video. Of course Kang Joon ends up getting slapped pretty hard by his father- though I’m surprised he didn’t do more given his previous punishment tactics on the his daughters. His father feeling bad confesses to Sara’s mother, still hoping that Kang Joon being a murder is not true, that Chae Yeon is threatening him with the video to obtain the building. Sara overhears this part and calls up Kang Joon. I didn’t think that both of them would (sort of) tag team with each other but she basically proposes that she will get Chae Yeon to be an accomplice to the murder via evidence on the condition that he confesses what he did to Tae Hee. Obviously he didn’t actually do the crime but the scene sort of dismisses his comment which is annoying, however Kang Joon reveals to Sara that Chae Yeon knows her true identity.
And what else to follow but a bitch fight between both Sara and Chae Yeon (I’d say Sara won this one):
So Winner Food’s re-launch goes great given the ratings and this worries Min Hyuk’s mother however he seems unmoved from his main goals.
He does briefly mention he had a backup plan but my god I did not see this coming. So of course with the great ratings of the re-launch Tae Hee has the upperhand in the directors meeting. However Min Hyuk is one clever b****; he flips the tables by stating that he was the one who helped Winner Food’s success by supporting from the backline and getting Sara to help them make the riceballs. I had to give him my slow clap because you can’t deny this was a pretty well though of plan.
So Min Hyuk ends up getting nominated for the CEO position and Tae Hee ends up once and for all despising Sara. My heart couldn’t take this moment; I just got the feels!
The ending was like an avalanche of revelations! Everyone pretty much reveal their plans and secrets. Chae Yeon in her distressed rage upon Tae Hee losing reveals to grandmother that Sara is actually fake and that she is going to uncover it in the talk show she has prepared. Tae Hee in turn finds this out after speaking to his grandmother. Sara also screws Min Hyuk for betraying her and not helping Tae Hee (I mean what does she expect?) but he tells her that he doesn’t care. It was his goal from the beginning after all they are in a succession war, and it’s her he wants most of all and now she’s stuck with him as she helped him into the CEO position. Oh before I forget Kang Joon slyly hints to Sara as to who may have been behind Tae Hee’s beating!
I actually can’t wait to watch the next episode now! It’s all finally coming together in terms of plans and secrets!
Favourite Quote and Moment:
Most definitely has to be: “work doesn’t betray you”- Tae Hee. Just because I can actually relate to this in real life! As soon as someone pisses me off I just dive into work with pretty much the same attitude.
Unfortunately work does betray you Tae Hee…
In fact this whole scene is just hilarious! Since none of the Winner Food employees are willing to work, Tae Hee and Team Leader Choi have to make the riceballs themselves. I feel so bad at this moment when they are standing in the elevator and the door opens up to both Min Hyuk and Sara having a casual conversation.
