Hey dudes! Sorry its been a while since my last post had exams and revision which pretty much took over my life for a good month but thankfully I’m back!
So the big reveal in the beginning of the episode turns is that she didn’t get on the flight abroad after hearing her mothers voice message to stay strong. I was a little shocked given that I typically thought she was going to come back in the next episode a year later with like a makeover or something. Min Hyuk finds out about this and she contacts him to tell him she is going to stay in the provinces with her mother for some peace and quiet. This means a BIG happy smile for Min Hyuk. Throughout this episode you can tell that they become confidants in each other, which I do find strange given that Sara knows (I think?) of his beef with Tae Hee. So you would thing she would stay away from him instead of repeatedly asking for help. May be it’s because Min Hyuk has a way with words when it comes to convincing her.
Yes Ji Hoon! Finally he sees some sort light in the darkness when Chae Yeon begins packing her clothes away, presumably to stay with Tae Hee. He mentions that she looks unusually happy for just publicly announcing her divorce.
Of course it wouldn’t be a episode without some sort of bitchiness from Chae Yeon. She reveals to Kang Joon that if he does not transfer the building over to her she will disperse the black box video taken from his car the night he killed Geum Ran. I was not shocked to see that she resorted to some sort of blackmail. She tells him it’s a form of punishment for ruining her life. Erm… are you sure about that? You’ve ruined lives and seem not to have learnt your lesson by making things even worse. Someone get this girl a reality check.
Tae Hee of course is completely broken in this episode. Throughout the episode you see him goes through the different stages of a break-up. Anyway typically he begins to have flashbacks of her and can’t seem to get her out of his head. My favourite stage of grief is the second one: anger. He starts breaking up the stand up cut out of her but of course being Tae Hee fixes it back together. He also fails to get on with any of the Winner Food business, even going to Kang Joon’s disciplinary meeting. By the way, Kang Joon somehow manages to only get himself 3 months suspension- not sure how that worked but whatever. Chae Yeon being the snitch that she is tells his grandmother who bluntly tells him that he is the only one struggling not Sara.
Nevertheless he finds hope in his love when he watches the last episode of Birth of a Chef as he gets moved by Sara’s speech about marrying him. He also notices Sara’s on screen emotion which is purposely directed at him and sees her true colours. Kang Joon failing to transfer the building then has to deal with Chae Yeon’s blackmail of the video to his family. He tries to justify it to them by claiming it was all fabricated by her through evil intent but I don’t think they bought it. To be honest I would be at least slightly scared if I was Chae Yeon since she knows he’s capable of getting rid of any obstacles in a murderous manner. Who’s to say he’s not going to kill you?
Tae Hee does manage to find out where Sara is staying at after a mishap on Sara’s friends side. But what I found coincidental and funny was how all three men are literally heading Sara’s way simultaneously in their fancy cars. Can’t a girl catch a break? Anyway Tae Hee is confronted by Sara’s mother who is disappointed by the fact that Sara was hurt again and tells him to stay away because of his succession to Winner Group which would be detrimental to Sara’s well-being. But he ends up turning his car (obviously) and the conversation that follows is a little soul breaking:
Near the end of the episode Min Hyuk embarks upon his plan to turn the Union against Tae Hee by falsifying some loan documents. Basically some formal stuff that I don’t understand but would basically kicks Tae Hee out of the game. Because Tae Hee, being in his depressive mood refuses to respond, Team Leader Choi tries to get Sara to help. But of course this all part of Min Hyuk’s plan as she turns to him for help and he offers a ultimatum to attend a business dinner with him where he will be recognised as the CEO. The climatic ending here being that Tae Hee manages to come in time to witness this all. So you kind of get left hanging with an image of triumph for Min Hyuk. He just stole yo girl Tae Hee!
I was slyly expecting all three men to see each other but it didn’t happen. Instead Kang Joon, the last of three strolls in casually and tells Sara everything about Chae Yeon’s blackmail. There was no particular favourite quote but here’s another favourite climatic moment.
Finally both Tae Hee and Kang Joon think to as Min Hyuk about where Sara is. But on both occasions Min Hyuk manages to par them out.
