Of course from the last episode I was seriously worried for the couple now that Kang Joon knows of her secret. However I was sadly mistaken given that in this episode is where I actually was think they were totally f*****.
One thing I have to admit upon seeing the interaction between Chae Yeon and Kang Joon, is that Chae Yeon’s acting, within her character acting is on point. Do you know what I mean? The way she pretends and portrays an innocent impression was on point. I without doubt hate her character but love her acting.
So now that Tae Hee and Sara have decided to get married on Christmas day they get started on their preparations since its 3 days away. You see them make a wish list, which I thought was really cute because I’ve never heard of a couple doing that before. Not sure if that’s purely because I’ve mainly attended Indian weddings but it was really cute that they both wrote down their wishes to be fulfilled before marriage. I especially thought it was sweet that they have a mini wedding rehearsal in their house- it being on both their wish lists.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Kdrama without a wedding dress reveal. She obviously looked amazing in her dress and I actually liked her dress, considering in other dramas I’ve not really been as supportive of the dress choice.
But here is when you start see Kang Joon begin his revenge. Got to admit he brings his A game when it comes getting revenge as he begins stalking her wherever she goes. But Kang Joon what happened to that first love feeling huh?
Sara begins to get scared and worried now that Kang Joon has her on lock down. Tae Hee being the perfect boyfriend picks up on her worry and gets her a worry doll in the form of him to place all her worries into. #ThePerfectBoyfriend
So Chae Yeon and her bad timing finds out about Sara and Tae Hee going abroad to get married when she see’s the engagement ring on Sara’s finger. I guess I saw this coming but it annoys me that it was her who found out first. Plus she mentions that her basis for revenge is because Sara ruined her life. No Chae Yeon your life is ruined because of your b**** ass morals.
Everything basically goes wrong from this point onwards in the drama and to be honest I kind of saw it coming. I was jumping in my bed once I realised that Sara finally sees who Min Hyuk really is, especially since he literally says he’s going step down Chae Yeon as the face of the company in favor of her.
Literally all that nice attitude with him literally floods away once she realises he’s Tae Hee’s enemy. What makes things worse is the scene where Tae Hee and Min Hyuk enter into a battle between winning over Winner Food’s employees. Min Hyuk by offering severance pay for halting work and Tae Hee by giving them some hope in a better future. Tae Hee wins and Min Hyuk gets flour-bombed which is priceless! But not gonna lie I definitely believe that Min Hyuk exudes more authority than Tae Hee, especially in the their voice tones.
I do slightly feel bad for Min Hyuk’s character. After his humiliation at the company you see him sitting at home drinking his sorrows away. Of course me being naive thought he was depressed because he was publicly humilated. In fact he was drinking because he didn’t like the way he was humiliated in front of the ‘girl he loves’. Why do I feel sorry for him? Because it seems as if nothing has ever gone right in his life. Because of his mother he’s regarded second class by his family, thus forcing him to seek revenge and now has to face the fact that his girl got taken away by his brother. Anyway in this scene Min Hyuk reveals that he knew it was his mother who killed Tae Hee’s parents. I wasn’t too shocked by this because I thought it was slightly predictable from earlier episodes. The more important fact was when his mother calls someone to tell them that her son witnessed that person do the deed. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I found out it was the grandmothers right hand man! I literally dropped the rice that was in my hands.
What makes this revelation problematic is that Chae Yeon has already previously pushed Kang Joon to tell Min Hyuk about Sara stealing someone’s identity and going off to marry Tae Hee abroad in three days. What the stupid idiot fails to realise is that she now has basically put Tae Hee’s life at risk. Because Min Hyuk orders the grandmother’s butler to kill Tae Hee. Simultaneously she also tells the grandmother about their plans. The grandmother, getting worried has a conversation with Sara basically telling her to stay away because she will cause him harm with her tainted past. Tae Hee then gets ambushed and beat up. It really bugged me that everyone keeps telling Sara she shouldn’t be with Tae Hee because she will be a bad influence plus she’s only following him for the money. I’m sitting here thinking where were you all these years and it is you people who are the greedy ones. Unfortunately Sara once seeing him in his beaten up state starts thinking about everyone’s warnings against her being with him and causing him harm. I feel like, because this is the episode end, they may predictably have Sara run off and not come back for a while to get away from him. That’s my personal opinion anyway but I wonder if the next episode will prove me wrong. I think one thing that can be said for definite is that Chae Yeon is an absolute b****.
Favourite/Funniest moment? + Favourite Quote?
“I’m not the helpless victim Sa Geum Ran. I’m not the victim. Never”- Sara
This was from one of Sara’s bawse moments where she decides to face Kang Joon head on instead of being afraid of him. I loved it because when she calls him up to arrange a meet up he tells her that he will be the one to decide the details not her.
But oh how he was wrong because she cleverly goes to his house for a visit to which his mum forces him to come home. She also drops to his family that people have been accusing him of murder and creates chaos in the household. I love this side of her so much! He also mentions that she’s not the Sa Geum Ran he knew and she replies with the fact that she’s not going to stand back and watch whilst he tries to take her down. She will prove that he’s a murder and a fraud for rewriting her will so she will make sure he’s forced onto the streets.
But I did find it cute that after this interaction she goes and finds Tae Hee and with a much more relieved face and hugs him for being free of worry. His reply is priceless:
