Two things I loved about the beginning. One seeing Min Hyuk’s extremely pissed off face from the dance scene once again. Second the showdown between Chae Yeon and Sara- Sara definitely won but all I can say is BURRRRRRRNNNNNN
Throughout the whole episode Tae Hee puts efforts towards getting an answer out of Sara. He begins right after the dance when he tells her to practice saying “yes” by accepting the cake he offers and she’s like- nah. Anyway after the Tae Hee’s dramatic proposal once they come home Tae Hee interrupts Sara’s fretting when he shows her the couple tee’s they made for them. He’s already in the fast lane! They even have matching beer drinking hats; one thing I learned is how aggressive Sara gets when she’s drunk. And Tae Hee’s compliments are weird.
He is also admits honestly about bribing the fellow employees with food during Sara’s shoot in order to turn her answer into a yes. I have to admit the best part of his plan is when he tries to put on the appearance of a “hard-working man” to impress her. Well at least he thinks its impressing her.
His plan however fails when he fails to be authoritative in handling the mutinies in his factions, obviously Kang Joon’s doing. However this failure is instead a blessing in disguise and teaches the important lesson of communication in relationships. He admits that he’s been trying to give of a charismatic working man aura to make Sara say yes and see what a great catch he is. She tells him that he just looked weird to which he gets slyly offended. She professes that she didn’t give him an answer because of her worries about her anxious past and how it could possibly affect his position as Winner Group’s successor. He lights up upon realising that her answer was always going to be yes- like it wasn’t obvious.
Another running theme through the episode is the lack of confidence everyone instills in Sara with regards to accepting marriage. Chae Yeon lashes at her telling her she can’t handle being the wife of the Winner Group’s successor, nor worthy- not like Chae Yeon can talk anyway. The grandmother gets misled by Chae Yeon too when and starts her own investigation on Sara in order to see if she needs to get rid off her. Even Ji Hoon meets up with her and personally asks her to reject Tae Hee. I don’t think he would be so hurtful as he is here if he knew the whole truth about the situation. Thankfully Sara doesn’t take them to heart and stands her ground. #AhjummaPower
Sara notices finally Min Hyuk’s over affectionate actions. He confesses that he likes her, in return she confirms his suspicions with Tae Hee and her when she mentions she’s in love with someone else. I was surprised he didn’t break out into a rage when he hears this, instead he keeps quite a calm demeanour. But I was obviously wrong since afterwards he goes ape shit in his room and turns into King Kong.
But OOOO for once #ShotsFired by Tae Hee:
Probably the ultimate moment in this episode was Kang Joon finding out that Sara is Geum Ran- almost. He pieces together from what his sisters overhear from Ji Hoon and Sara’s conversation how she was betrayed by a man for a long time. Chae Yeon also on the side keeps gently pushing him to think about the obvious facts in front of him, especially the point about her having a grandmother who had dementia. Her presence really jars me. But what clicks it for him is when she sings her (olden?) songs.
The ending was sweet as it ends with her giving her answer to Tae Hee after consulting with her mother. His face is priceless and the sheer happiness on it just made me want to jump up in joy for him. Good for you Sara for not listening to all the bullshit around you and just focusing on what makes you happy. Unfortunately however in the ending Kang Joon witnesses them in the restaurant after they’ve exchanged rings. What’s worrying is the that legally she is still married to Kang Joon…
“Everyone think they know everything”- Sara
Just because of the irony of this statement. None of them know everything apart from Chae Yeon. But on top of this this resonates true in real life as well, people jump to conclusions way too easily without actually taking time to figure things out. Actually that is something all the evil characters in this episode seem to be skilled in.
When Tae Hee imagines what their first night as newlyweds would be like; he has been frustrated for way too long clearly.
