I’m sorry for my lack of posts this week I’ve been a little preoccupied with other commitments but I will have much more content up soon! I also apologise if this post isn’t like my others I was literally rushed when watching this episode.
I know I’ve said this so many times now but I absolutely love the beginnings of these episodes. There’s always something funny to start it off. In this episode they arrive from their kiss back at home nudging each other shyly as they come in. It was very heart warming when Sara tries to go to bed but Tae Hee grips her hand too tightly. She then tells him they should probably sleep separately to which he blames her for holding his hand too tight. Sara points out to him that it is in fact him who is not letting go and he brings up his past excuse of Alien Hand Syndrome. Come on Tae Hee, I think it’s well established that that is just a poor excuse.
It was also cute to see both of their reactions to the kiss afterwards.
Especially the moment where Sara and Sa Geum Ran have a casual conversation on how she deserves Tae Hee’s love, instead of being scared of being hurt from love again. In response to this Sara decides to create some stability for her and Tae Hee by entering the chef competition. Tae Hee is not happy however:
Also Min Hyuk decides to give her a helping hand by offering her invitations to a renowned chef’s cooking classes. Of course Tae Hee , who is trying to contact her, gets jealous of her not answering him.
I was literally screaming at my screen: “You deserve it!” at the mother in-law when the father in-law proposes they give Sara’s mother her land back due to guilt. The mother in-law’s face when is priceless. Her being the selfish woman she is runs after Chae Yeon and tells her lets temporarily give it back and then get it back. First of all, this was a pretty stupid move considering that she knows of Chae Yeon’s character. Consequently Chae Yeon obviously just brushes off her request nonchalantly.
It turns out she takes steps to register the land in her name. Kang Joon eventually finds this out and pushes her to somehow warn her. She uses this to her advantage and gets Tae Hee away from Sara. I was jumping with joy when Tae Hee finally outright rejects her and her stupid fucked up feelings. Chae Yeon declares that she was wrong for marrying Kang Joon and rejecting Tae Hee’s feelings and that she now realises how much she loves him. Pssht shut up! She even tries the argument that she’s the only on who can cure his broken heart syndrome. Not any more bitch! Tae Hee literally tells her he needs to be somewhere else and leaves her sorry ass.
This private investigator needs to get gunned down. Fortunately Sara realises that she is being followed to the hospital and quickly manages to grab her mother as well. Also Tae Hee comes to the rescue, however because of this incident he attempts to teach her self-defence. This plan fails anyway considering that each move he tries she blocks pretty effectively. However I got the feels when he grabbed her from behind and they she innocently just stands there in his arms. Kawaiiiiii
Because of this however Kang Joon discovers that Tae Hee is the ‘other man’. He confirms his suspicions once he finds evidence in their house. I was a little worried future considering at the end of this, from his phone call, I get the feeling that he is going to tag team with Chae Yeon.
Got to admit that Min Hyuk is smart and thinks fast. Hey that rhymes! Anyway he releases the grandmother out of jail by faking medical records that he holds above her to prevent her from running away. He does this in order to look like the better grandson. Regrettably this hinders Tae Hee’s plan given his attempts to bail his grandmother out.
“What I went through was because I was powerless.”- Sa Geum Ran
What she states after I believe is very symbolic in a way. “I was an ahjumma that depended only on her husband. After everything was taken I couldn’t protect myself”. Why this was my absolute favourite quote, maybe one of my top ones from this drama, was because of the clear message it conveys. I’ve always believed you won’t be ready for a relationship if you can’t even love yourself to begin with, or even provide for yourself. I’m not saying you have to be loaded with money and Bentleys with butlers at your call. Just if you can be stable enough for you, and love yourself for you, then when someone does leave you you’re not completely powerless.
The last scene was my favourite. It was really intimate as well as the moment where they both truly convey their feelings of one another. Tae Hee states that he will never leave her side and will always come running if she is in danger. This definitely portrays his true character if you look back at all the past episodes. There was also a really touching moment when Tae Hee asks her to say the one thing he wants to hear. So what happens? Nah I don’t feel like ruining it! If you’ve seen the episode then you were probably jumping like I was if you haven’t- GO WATCH!
