Am I the only one who found it really jarring that Tae Hee is still blinded by his love of Chae Yeon? When his usual protective self goes to warn Chae Yeon it was frustrating that he still fails to see the truth. She was clearly trying to avert him away and place the shame on him. Of course there’s nothing he actually needs to prevent given that she is pretty much a partner in crime withKang Joon.ChaeYeon goes hard on Tae Hee with some pretty low blows by calling him out on his love as the reason for ‘insulting’ Kang Joon.Bitch please! But, ah, his defeated face when she tells him she doesn’t love him but Kang Joon; don’t worry Tae Hee you’ve got Sara (or me?)! Kang Joon, being the fool he is, comes in and joins in with Chae Yeon’s charade by slamming Tae Hee as being a ‘nobody’ and ‘trash’. I swear ifi was there I would have slapped that smug look off his face. I was egging Tae Hee on to slap him. But Ji Hoon stopped Tae Hee before he could do anything! Why? You should have let my baby take his anger out on both of them. 😦
Finally Sara’s mother finds out that Kang Joon actually had an affair when she sees the article on the wedding. I was so proud of her when she stands her ground in front of Kang Joon’s mother finally. That boss moment when Kang Joon’s mother tries to act all mighty by prepping her fists for a fight till Sara’s mother goes “What fists?”. She throws down the flower to threaten her. BAWSE! You showed her! As they say like mother like daughter; this was clearly illustrated when Sara jumps to the rescue of her mother and friend from security, where did she get those moves from? If I had tried to reenact that it would have gone badly. What puts the icing on the cake is when Tae Hee joins in. He mentions he’s pissed off anyway so finally he can vent his anger out on the bodyguards, although I would have preferred it if it were Kang Joon.
So this episode is essentially a transition from seriousness in the previous episode to one of a primarily comedy. The whole episode revolves around their new master plan to annoy the newlyweds after their honeymoon. Can I join?
The tables seem to have turned here when Sara comes up with her agent style database of all the targets and Tae Hee is so proud of her at this point (remember ep 1?). But don’t be fooled, Tae Hee takes it an extra step further with his underground highly-technical agent database. The secret weapon? Sara’s beauty? Course not Tae Hee, more like her housework skills! Yes I was baffled at first too. But it all makes sense as she manages to mess up the family when she uses her amazing cooking skills to get inside and gather evidence of the sisters’ gambling addiction, illegal pyramid scheme (whatever that is?) and the mothers affairs (like mother like son ey?). Was I the only one who thought that under the table was clearly a obvious place to have a listening device? I mean anyone could just run his or her hands under it and feel it, then again this is k-drama were watching.
But I need to give props to Sara’s plans here. When she reveals literally all three secrets to the dad slyly and the mum gets hit with his shoe, which she deserves after hitting Sara’s mother. Sara you clever bitch! Her description of the father in-law was on point; he is the hulk, warm-hearted but once angry he is a monster. I was wondering in the episode whether the father in-law knew that Kang Joon had cheated, or? Just because he was pretty fond of Sa Geum Ran and clever.
It switches to Tae Hee’s plan in his sexy secret agent uniform (pwahh). He was not subtle at all. His outfit made him stick out and he even parks right in front of the bloody building. His side of the plan is to ruin Kang Joon’s reputation as a CEO; this is mainly because Kang Joon dared call him a ‘nobody’. Yes Tae Hee he no man can mess with you! He manages to place a virus in an email to everyone sent by Kang Joon but his special effects of taking a dump set up in the toilet was the highlight of his plans. All hail genius Tae Hee!
The whole Min Hyuk and the Winner Group conundrum finally clicked in my head after this episode. So Tae Hee is the missing grandson as Min Hyuk’s mention of the chemical explosion that killed Dan Geul (the grandson) connects with Tae Hee’s flashback in Ep 4. Also you see Tae Hee looking at the missing advert and evidently clears up that he is Dan Geul. What is interesting is that the grandmother mentions the father being poisoned by rat poison, hint hint to Min Hyuk’s mother, but I was confused a little because I thought he died from the explosion? This episode is the first time Min Hyuk and Tae Hee encounter each other and in close proximity of each other.
Some additional background info is given on Min Hyuk in this episode too, for which I was very grateful for because when he first was introduced I was puzzled as to where he came from out of nowhere. You find out that his/mothers resentment towards the grandmother and reasoning behind the evil plan to take over the company is because they were never considered proper family to begin with. So apparently the father of Tae Hee and Min Hyuk had a mistress and of course he was the offspring of that relationship. But he mentions how they were only taken in because the grandma lost the other grandson and had no one left. It was nice to see why this guy is so angry all the time and a little into their strong emotions that they portray overtime the story focuses on them.
So this episode has been the one where ALL their plans actually worked. From the moment Chae Yeon and Kang Joon came from their honeymoon literally everything goes bad- as planned. From the doll crashing- and yes Chae Yeon that does represent your love, to the earring being found in the pillowcase. Tensions build between the couple not just from the earring but when Chae Yeon refuses to cook since she doesn’t want to be made a housewife for the rest of her life. Not gonna lie I have to agree with her on that but her circumstances were different in that there were no one else to cook since the dad was punishing the rest of the females. But have no fear Sara is here!
Her housework skills yet again are successful when she brings over dinner and wins over the family with her proposal to hire the sisters in her new restaurant; I’m assuming the establishment is Tae Hee’s. But oh sweet Buddha that slap Sara gives, I think I was just waiting for this to happen since the beginning, It felt so good! Clearly Tae Hee felt the same because he reacts in a very satisfied way as if she was venting his anger out on Kang Joon as well. Of course Tae Hee gets his turn to punch Kang Joon too and his face just literally looks like he’s hit the jackpot (if you know what I mean ;)). I thought it was quite cute when they both blowed on each others fists when preparing to bang up Kang Joon. Of course Kang Joon is pretty baffled whilst they look at him like: #AreYouGonnaBangDoe
Turns out Tae Hee’s virus did the trick since Kang Joon had the entire shareholder meeting material which gets wiped out, meaning now he had to deal with Min Hyuk. I wouldn’t want to deal with Min Hyuk when he’s angry so I was very understanding of Kang Joon’s cowardly face. Further cracks crack in the happy couple when Chae Yeon finds the planted earring, bad timing on her part when he’s literally trying to save his ass from Min Hyuk’s foot. Tough times bro…
“She’s not wearing a dress, she’s not doing karma sutra. But why? Why does she look so pretty?” – Han Tae Hee
Yes I went for a very unconventional quote but my reasoning was because this was one of the sweetest moments of the episode. When the tables turn as Sara starts to hint to the pain he will have to go through once he realises that the one he loves is actually no good. I couldn’t have agreed more to that Sara. It was such a loving moment not in a romantic but in a friendly sense as she expressed her genuine concern for him. But of course Tae Hee falls just that little bit more for her charm. Yes Tae Hee she seems pretty to you not because she’s beautiful but because you are starting to get the FEELS!
Nothing can compete with the exaggerated Kung Fu scene with Tae Hee and Sara! I was cracking up so much when they were practicing their very ‘unique’ attack combos on Kang Joon. I clap to your ferocious moves!
